It's often a perturbing a question. After careful study, the results of why people cheat or have affairs are not as surprising as one may think.

It's hard enough for the individuals to admit that they have cheated, and is also somewhat embarrassing to some that your partner would seek sexual intimacy with another person outside the relationship. The reasons for both genders had similarities but were also quite different, we will go over a few!

Why Do Women Cheat?!

There main reason was that women felt if they lacked attention from there partners it caused them to seek attention elsewhere, so much so that it would lead into sexual activities with the third party that the female might not have anticipated. it would turn out like that from the harmless flirting in the beginning. From the study, we also noticed that the women were complaining about the men becoming complacent within the relationship. Saying it was more exciting in the beginning as men would do more to get into a relationship with them, but not bother as much once there in a relationship, the question will are women asking for too much?! This is a topic we will cover at later date……

The second reason was women just wanting sex with different people while having the security of a boyfriend/husband! Even if the sex was good, and they were getting everything they wanted from their partners, they would still seek sex from other people. We haven't come for a solution for this yet as the obvious solution would be just to have sex with different people without being in a relationship. But the majority of this category women still wanted to be in a relationship, while having sex with other people.

Why do men Cheat?!
Women requested to see the results of this topic before we had collected all the data. Why do men cheat?! Men seem not to be able to control their sex drive as well as women, men would often lead astray after attention from other women. The term men are 'weak' was applied by a lot of women to this country. The reply from men is that women are used to getting attention, and men are not used to it, so they tend to melt under the pressure of sexual attention from other women.

More men would openly admit to cheating quicker then the females who helped with the market research. Do not feel honoured yet men, as we live in a world where men are hailed for how many women they sleep with, and women are chastised if they sleep with a lot of men. The phrase some guys said to this topic was 'if a key can open a lock it's a master lock, if the lock can be open by many keys. It's a bad key.' We will leave you to decide whether or not you agree with, as, strangely, some of the religious women in the research did.

Never Fear To seek Professional help within your Marriage!

Sometimes no matter what we try within our relationship/marriage nothing seems to work, sometimes seeking an outside opinion can help. Especially if your married as seeking professional help can help save marriages. This must be looked at if your arguments have deterred you onto the verge of breakup. If kids are involved this is something both parties would more then likely want to be avoided.

Why not seek advice from a friend?

Sometimes seeking advice from a friend can be worse, yes sometimes its good to get another opinion on the situation but friends can sometimes be biased to the person there closets to within the marriage. What about a neutral friend? Neutral friends can be helpful especially within a relationship, a neutral prospective from the outside can sometimes lead to small problems being looked at and given solutions and that will always help.

Asking a neutral friends advice for a marriage can be different, marriages have a lot more to lose then a relationship, so situations within a marriage should be treated with more caution. Think about it, marriage is a sacred event where not just two people unite but family and friends as well. Also you will most probably be living together and have children involved. Seeking professional help may not seem so bad now right.

Seeking professional help is expensive.

I admit, the prices to see a marriage counsellor, anyone that can give help, guidance or support would expect to be paid. First come to grips that the years and years of training they went through, throughout there lives are for moments like this, to help people save their marriages. Just think right, you want to be paid the right amount of money for your profession right. Now it's time to think about all the money you can save if your marriage is successfully saved. No money spent on moving out to new properties, lawyers and taking time off work.
